Hampton Beach, NH Fire

Some sad news today as the storm that started around 11 pm Thursday night in New Hampshire has led to the fire destruction of a 600 to 800 foot block of stores on Ocean Blvd in Hampton Beach, NH. The fire started at the Surf Motel and, because of the 70 mph gusts of wind, it quickly spread to the other neighboring wood framed buildings. One of the buildings destroyed was home of the Happy Hampton Arcade, a place we were planning on visiting at the beginning of this years summer season. Luckily since it was off season, no one was hurt during the fire. While it sucks to lose an arcade and sucks even more to lose a full block from a beach vacation spot, at least no one was injured. Here is a link to a video of one of the news report coverages:

Interview with one of the arcade owners.

We will have the "crazy Korean game" video up for Monday, a huge news announcement this weekend from Nick (if he is allowed and did not have to sign any disclosures. Hint, it involves TRON), and some more home port reviews from Nick and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get the Sarge to write a piece about his "FAVORITE" arcade hardware, the SEGA NAOMI (and all of its tag a long parts and pieces).
