Cave, Cave, CAVE!

Cave has been quite busy these days with supporting what seems to be their new favorite platform for international game releases, the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch. With their most recent game, Mushihimesama Bug Panic it appears that Cave has decided to take a stab at designing an original game for the apple mobile platform. Listed below are the current Cave releases with promo videos:

1.) Mushuhumesama Bug Panic

A brand new action game from Cave that is told in a comic book style and is based on characters from the infamous arcade shmup, Mushihimesama by Cave.

Originally released in Japanese arcades as Dodonpachi Dai-Fukkatsu (Dai-Fukkatsu roughly translating/meaning revival) is a port with added modes and features for the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch.

Espgaluda II was Cave's first iPhone/iPad/iPod touch port. The game took the app world by storm. Shmup fans who were anti apple were beginning to have a change of heart after seeing this game in action. Again extra modes have been added on top of the original arcade mode.

Now, not every iPhone and iTouch is compatible with these games. The following link will take you to Cave's easy to read list of compatible devices with an extra nifty chart for telling what generation iPod touch you have.

Cave's Compatibility List

The downside is it appears that you need to have an iPhone 3GS or later, as well as a 3rd generation iPod touch or later. A special note for Espgaluda II says that late 2009 8gb iPod touch models can not handle the game. All the games run on the iPad. For Mushihimesama Bug Panic, you need to have iOS 4.2 on your iPad.

We will get you some reviews of these ports as soon as we can.
