R.I.P Ted Wern

Hey everybody. I want to apologize for not having the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 review up on the site tonight. Had another busy day and I wasn't able to get it uploaded in time. I will have it up on Friday night. I have a bit of sad news to report. I had just heard that a good friend of mine Ted Wern lost his battle with cancer. Ted was the manager of a couple of Dream Machine run arcades here on the east cost, including one I used to visit often, FYE in Bayshore Long Island. Here's the video if you haven't seen it already.

Ted was a really great person, inside and outside of the arcade. He really went the extra mile to make the arcade a great place to go and spend your hard earned money playing the various Bemani games. We did a lot of stuff with him including going to see some flicks (Blade 2) going to other arcades... and also just there to talk and BS. I'm really regretting not keeping in touch with him after the arcade closed, but I am glad after reading his Facebook page that he had a great wife that stood by his side though all of his last days.

So Ted, I just wanted to say thanks for all of the great times and to his wife my most heartfelt condolences. Rest well friend.

  1. Ted was the first drummer I worked with a long time ago. I just found this out yesterday that he died. He was such a good person... Definitely Carzy... lol... but such a good person... He'd always talk about the arcade and his obsession with Insane Clown Posse.

    RIP TED....

    Sincerely,
    Jennifer

  2. Ted really fostered the DDR scene on Long Island in a huge way, and we will all be forever grateful for that. Not only a friend, a neighbor who would invite me and my brother to watch WWF PPV's with him and his friends. One of the coolest, most genuine guys I'm glad to have known.
