Evo Finals Tonight and News From Evo 2011

Tonight is the finals of the Evolution 2011 Fighting Game World Championships in Las Vegas! There's also been some big news regarding new characters in Street Fighter X Tekken and a balance patch to Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition! Hit the jump for more!

First I'll start with the character trailers for the two new characters teased at the Street Fighter X Tekken panel.

The first character is obviously Kuma from Tekken. The second could be up for debate but everybody is pretty much certain it's Street Fighter III's Ibuki. Still nothing from Capcom regarding an arcade release for this game or Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. While Namco/Bandai is showing off Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the actual arcade hardware, there's been no new news besides this one that I will take the direct quote from Event Hubs.

At a EVO 2011 panel, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono announced that they've begun working on balance changes for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition.
Capcom USA signed off on the patch and they will be testing balance changes it select locations in arcades in the future.
This will not cost any money, it'll be a free download, when it's released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Ono wants to take his time balancing this, and according to Seth Killian it will be available in the fall or winter time.
Ono said since he's announcing this, he's asking people to please tone down all of the bad language and insults on his Twitter account.

It's great to see they are issuing a balance patch to the actual arcades. I hope owners of the AE units won't have to jump through hoops in order to get the game updated. I know our friend Adam who runs Arcade Heroes and his own arcade, The Game Gird had to bring his AE board back to Japan to get fixed. Hopefully he'll be able to get the balance patch. Since I haven't gotten the AE DLC Upgrade I can't speak for myself on it. From watching Friday night's Evo stream I can see how strong they made Yun and Fei-Long. I used Fei-Long when Street Fighter IV first came to console and I've used him a bit in Super so I'm glad he got a buff, but it's really insane. He hits like a truck and his Chicken Wing can go though a lot of projectiles.

Right now as I type this their doing the finals for BlazeBlue. The action will be going on all day, so be sure to check it out for some amazing action in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter III Third Strike, Tekken 6, Mortal Kombat 9 and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. If you own a Playstation 3 you can watch the stream from Playstation Home, if not here's the link so you can check out all the action.
